Now that the eulogies are over, it’s time to get real about the former Massachusetts senator. No matter what anyone thought of him as a person—his service, policies, and accomplishments as a senator were disastrous overall. Kennedy supported big-government, tax and spend, malignant welfare, and ruinous socialism. He was a “lion” all right, but only in the liberal sense. He supported liberalism that has killed off a massive amount of the nation’s prosperity.
So much baloney and super-hyped praise was ballyhooed at his death that one would think some sort of messiah died. The facts should be faced: Ted Kennedy was no king, savior, nor undying supporter of American patriotism as understood by citizens who appreciate the Constitution, our free-enterprise system, freedom from burdensome taxation, and freedom from stifling government interference and control.
One patriotic American veteran wrote his local newspaper about actual truths concerning the man:
|
The late Sen. Ted Kennedy was expelled from Harvard for cheating, never rose above the rank of private after two years in the Army, was convicted of leaving an accident where someone died because of his drunken driving, championed abortion, caused the loss of tens of thousands of jobs by continually raising the minimum wage, endorsed the leftist concept of powerful government control of individual lives, supported homosexuals, authored immigration and amnesty policies that allowed illegal workers to come and go as they wished with unprecedented free benefits, created the mandatory "volunteer" youth program, was a main sponsor of socialist universal medical care that, if enacted, will bankrupt the nation, and voted for continual higher taxes and increased spending that enslaves generations to come with massive debt.
And we buried him in Arlington National Cemetery?! It desecrates the graves of the true patriotic heroes lying there. Kennedy did more to unravel the greatness of our nation than almost any other lawmaker in history, and as a veteran I take umbrage at this decision. He should have been buried in the state that astoundingly kept re-electing him for 46 years. A national hero he is not! |
Ted Kennedy is just another of many false heroes worshipped in America today.
